I switched from TurboTax to H&R Block tax software several years ago when they jacked their rates and I'm so glad I did. I was a little worried that my previous information wouldn't carry over but it imported without a problem. The H&R interview is fairly thorough. My only complaint is that when I get to the end it always seems to find a couple of lines that haven't been entered or entered correctly even though I answer everything in the interview.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast

I hit "file," but I have little confidence that the return is correct. So many of the interview questions were silly vague, like "do you have any other credits?" You tell me, that's the whole point of this exercise.
The "accuracy check" at the end was a total mess. The software just drops you into the middle of the IRS form and asks you to manually edit a box... again, without any explanatory information.
Finally, HR Block will still tell you half-way through the return that you need to upgrade to their more-expensive version. The net of it is that you don't save much over just having an accountant do it for you.
As for little stuff, I'd prefer if it would let you manually select what to import vs. importing it automatically and letting you delete that info. The problem is that the HR block system can change portions of the return you have mentally approved...so you have to keep going back over completed sections.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
