easy to use

multi-year user; need to fix code & interaction with IRS over need to file form 2210 and request for waiver of penalty (make notice of paper filling in bold caps to ensure user realizes problem). not being able to e-file increases fraud potential (is this Block or IRS issue? - needs resolved). especially if multiple states are involved. I finally decided to pay penalty, and allow me to fill everything electronically. I deem this to be safer than paper.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import, Fast
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Encountered many issues: 1. Installation was not seamless. Gave credit card number, could not download. Had to go to their email to download as the download button does not actually work from the web page even after you pay, go figure. Attributed to hightened security and moved on. 2. After filing the federal forms, the computer died. Re-installation on another computer was another hurdle. Luckily, I remembered the email and even though I had deleted it, it was still in my deleted folder. Reinstalled from there using the same purchase code, it worked. However, it created a new return, which I left blank and renamed, retrieved the files from the dead computer and continued to the state installation from there. 3. CA depreciation for rental properties is different from the federal. The software does not help the customer with these forms. It asks the customer to print the federal forms and fill a new form for each property, whereas the state form allows for multiple properties on one form (program does not use all the columns, only the first, utterly ridiculous).
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare, Hard to install
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Okay, but...

After doing the "Interview" and checking my return, it said there were things that had to be fixed. It would have been nice if it took me to the right page, showed me the mistakes, and told me how to fix them. There was no explanation other than, basically, "Fix your mistakes."
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Got this one because Intuit (which I've used the last three years) is way overpriced. Only thing wrong is that it wouldn't import the file from Quicken. Not a big problem, I just transferred over the numbers I needed to the appropriate sections. Still that's why It got four stars instead of five. For the price difference

The program pulled in last years data. Also, it downloaded it from the financial company. The questions at simple.

Not user friendly for complex returns

Cannot enter Spouse's SSN # as NRA, and therefore cannot submit electronically. Also, need to review tax form instructions to see if items apply to me, where other softwares are much more intuitive and have clearer explanations.
