I have been using HR Block for over a decade now. I realized this time I wanted to do something a bit more complex - well not complex at all really, and the software really did not provide good options. I called for support and support was soooooo bad! They had no clue about anything. I knew more about the software than they did or ever will. They don't even have a flow for e.g. to have questions regarding capital investments in rental properties and treat them appropriately. Mind you I have the premium. Their software even says I have to manually edit the depreciation period as this is a leasehold investment - something they could have programmed very easily. I know, as I am a programmer!
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Generally an ok product

The product itself was fine for the general features I'm used to. The K-1 section, new to me, was very confusing, and I ended up having to remove things from the form because they triggered errors even though they were the information provided on the K-1. Because of this, I will likely work with a professional next time instead of doing it myself with this software. I also filed an extension for the first time due to late K-1s. I paid when filing the extension when I typically get a little money back when filing, so I have less confidence in the process this year. I would recommend this product to financial folks or people with simple taxes.
Cons: Hard to prepare

i BOUGHT THIS AS SOON AS IT WAS AVAILABLE. tHE COMPLEXITIES OF K-1s AND FORM 116 FOREIGN TAXES WAS CHALLENGING EVEN WITH THE SOFTWARE.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
