nothing works, sending me through same hoops over and over
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare, Hard to install

Not as good as previous years

I have used this product for many years and I feel this year was the most difficult. Not enough "explain this". Very confusing.
Cons: Time consuming
Pros: Easy to install

More Difficult at Age 77

I have used the H&R Block Tax Prep software for several years. This year was the most difficult. Eventually, I learned that my Deductions and Exemptions exceeded my AGI by more than $10,000 ! No Taxes Due ! However, I struggled with the "Dividends and Distributions" interview this year. I wanted to go back, and edit my entries for several income items. When I 'right clicked' on the data entry box, I was presented with a list of all the worksheets which I had created for this interview topic (about 12 items this year). No specific LINK from the date entry blank to the correct worksheet !? I noticed that problem last year, also. This year, I 'guessed' which worksheet I needed - the worksheet was presented - and it was for the wrong income source. So I clicked to 'close' the worksheet. Guess What? The data from that worksheet was entered into the 'blank' for the income source - even though I had opened the wrong worksheet !? I just happened to notice the change this year - same thing may have happened last year, but I didn't notice !? Also, I struggled with the K-1 sheets for Limited Partnerships. I had several this year. And I thought the requested for data input were ambiguous !? Too many referral to instructions. Too many letters such as I. or J, or K, or etc. with asterisks? Anyone else have that problem? You need to be a CPA to enter the data from the LLP reports to the interview slots for the Block program.

Several years ago, this software included direct access to many PDF IRS forms and publications and instructions. I strongly recommend returning this feature.
Overall, my experience with the software was excellent.
My primary criticism is rather specific, referring to Form 4797, line 6. There is zero information about this line in form or instructions, and in particular, where in the big IRS world "line 32" is supposed to come from. I have ZERO CONFIDENCE in the number that the software inserted in this line. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME INDIVIDUALLY!!!
