I have used H&R Block Premium for years and it has saved me hundreds of dollars each year that I would have paid to an accountant. Besides needing to file as a married couple, I also own a duplex, and have a registered small business. All of those items together would make things quite confusing were I to try to do it myself. With H&R block, it walks you through the process asking you specific questions along the way, as well as providing helpful tips or information on some issues. Although I have rarely had to used it, they also have a support line included with the products, so if you are unsure about something and need more information, they are just a phone call away to help through the process.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

Software is great with one exception, two years in a row it will not import Schwab data. Known issue, and they seems to lack urgency to fix it. Few years ago they fixed the import, but late in the tax year, last year, i gave up waiting and had to enter in each trade manually per their recommendation. Painful.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
