I would recommend H&R Block tax software without reservation. It's very intuitive to navigate through and very educational re getting the best deductions and knowing what/what not to track throughout the year

Really good product that I have been using for over 10 years now. Unfortunately it does not handle REITs or Crypto earnings well. You’re kind of on your own for those. But overall excellent for my business and rental income.

My 2 adult children and myself used the software for our 2021 returns and all of us had our tax refund reduced by the IRS because they said the calculation eas wrong. This happen even though the software was updated before transmitting the returns to the IRS. My refund went from $2300 to $300. Very disappointed!!!

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

My brokerage house is Charles Schwab. The software would not import 1099s from them. Took about a month to be fixed. In the meantime, HR Block support kept telling me to enter them manually. What is the point of paying for automated software just to spend hours typing in 1099s? I have used Block for over a decade, but may try a competitor next year.
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
