I have been using H&R Block Software for over 20 years. It always delivers, and provides great guidance for completing a quality tax return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Not the experience I was expecting

After working for H&R Block for the last 7 years, I purchased the 2021 premium software. The interface was ok, however, the returns were rejected due to a discrepancy in spouse DOB. According to the rejection code, we would have to get the info corrected by the SSA, which should theoretically allow e-filing. Also was annoyed that I purchased software for a second state only to find out that it couldn't be e-filed. E-filing was the reason for purchasing the software(s) in the first place, but ultimately had to print and will mail 3 returns tomorrow. How can I get a refund?

Nothing but errors

Have used this before but this year we got nothing but ERROR CODE FD-32-IND-031-04 . I get it we did have one thing wrong the first time but after changing it we still get the same code after changing it. Worthless program I'm done with it and using another.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Reliable Standard

I've been using HR Block products now for probably ten years and I am always surprised by the reliability and ease of use. I wouldn't use anything else.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Very Good Program, but needs refinements

Overall I thought this TAX Program was "better than most". I had hoped that the Foreign Tax credit (Form 1116) would allow me to select the person receiving the foreign tax credit ie my spouse. Also printing the "package" didn't allow me to set my printer to print on both side of the paper.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

I have been using this program for a lot of years like about 45 years. This year is the first time i do not like it had some major problems like the efile charged me 3x the amount and took it right out of account working on getting it back and from now on will never file efile again, also never kept all my old info from last year in the program
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I spent several hours getting the right numbers for my crypto accounts... if I filed on turbotax, one click and the entire report would have been imported from two crypto wallets. Next year... I file with turbotax.
