I've been a user of HR Block tax prep software for years; however, this year was extremely frustrating because of its lack of precise directions on how to navigate the various screens. Example: after being ready to file, I was directed to a screen to "attach PDF documents", but there were no docs listed & no directions on where to get them. Program would not let me ignore it and file. Tried the "Virtual Chat" help, but it was nothing but a glorified electronic Q&A made to look like you would chat with human help. I was directed to the wrong person several times, having to wait 10-30 minutes & give ID info each time. I won't use HR Block in the future, but will fill the forms manually.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used your program for over 10 years, every year, and is the easiest one to use that I've heard about. We use to have rental properties, plus my wife's business, always gets all our deductions in place with no problems. We have never been audited either. I also love the "carry over information from previous year" function in the program.

I paid for the premium version because it offered advice but when I had a tax question and spent two hours on hold, I was told to look at the help features in the program which I already knew didn't answer my question. The program is also awkward to use. For example, you can't look at two forms at the same time

Everything was good except I had to do the NJ health insurance “fair share” manually. Admittedly, this does not apply to most, but the calculation seems pretty straightforward so I thought it should have been included.
