Software did not perform as advertised

Did not insert the correct AGI from 2018 to 2019 1040 so was rejected by the IRS. Corrected the amount manually but still rejected. Had to mail in return.
Did not process free federal return code, just paid for it. Very disappointing

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

After I was able to download it (would not open with Chrome, had to use Explorer - this should have been made known to the user), I found this to be very detailed and well suited for a small business. Falls down on State Taxes

The federal program worked very well. The Pennsylvania state program had a major error importing business income onto Schedule G-L, rendering the state program worthless. The incorrect information could not be manually over-ridden. I had to prepare state tax return manually.

Wrong carry-over from 2018 ! !

The software told me my 2018 AGI was 93,117 to verify who I was. This was apparently wrong. Therefore IRS rejected it.
Searching thru my records I found 90,964 AGI and resubmitted.

I have basic computer skills. I needed phone support which made the experience workable.

Good Over The Counter software

I have used H&R Block Premium software for a few years now. I was in professional practice for thirty years. Since I retired from active tax practice I have not had access to my normal professional tax software. This is a suitable substitute. I caution that software is not a substitute for the knowledge of a competent tax professional. Make sure you understand exactly what the software is reporting for you. Resolving a misapplication of tax law can be costly, and time-consuming.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It is a functionally complete product, that takes all of the stress of preparation and filing from the customer. I would be lost without it (for the past 20 years !!)

It makes doing taxes understandable and it is helpful as well as helping you to get the most refund. You can always trust H&R Block.
