This year, there were a few places I had to check on. The instructions were not as clear as most. Other than that, it was OK!

Missing 1 tax form I needed to complete return

I needed form 4136 to use for farm use gas tax credit.
This form has been missing the last 3 3 years at least.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

Unneeded Update

Block made me upgrade to premium to fix a problem on form 8829. Upgrade did exactly the same thing without fixing anything ... Had to file by paper and snail mail. really unhappy with lack of help fixing what I consider is a software glitch
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

Program quit unexpectedly and would not reopen

The program quit and would not reopen and I lost even the portions of the return I had saved. I had to start over.
The program also combined my 401K contributions with life insurance contributions and said I was over the 401K contribution limit.
The software isn't up to date on K-1 forms so I can't file until the software is updated and no date is given for the update.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

H&R Block made filing much easier. With three jobs, two of which are independent contracting, compiling donations, volunteering, and medical deductions, the software made this a much easier process. Recommended!

A very good tax software for the self employed

Yes, this is my fifth year to use it and I like it. It’s not always user friendly in some areas, especially in the state one for Oklahoma in which IRA’s get a $10,000 exemption in income but it’s a chore to find where that goes. I actually think I might have missed it this year. But overall it is a good program for self employed folks to use.
