I have 4 1095-B forms but the software doesn't have an option to input the information.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Have been using for years. Still skips over improvements for rental property. Poor guidance for depreciation. IRA distribution is not included in 1040 p2. 4a and filing instructions fail to advise you to attach associated 1099-R. Is shown properly on Alabama Form 40 p2 4a. Al instructions omit attaching 1099's.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I had to really work to find the payment voucher forms after I efiled and the fed 1040-V form didn't have the address of where to send the payment, I had to get that from the IRS. It wasn't like this last year.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mac App Crashes on W2 Import

The Mac app crashes every time on W2 import. Every. Time. Tried 6 times. Eventually just entered the info manually and didn't attempt an import again on any forms (W2s, 1099s, etc.). This was an issue last year with the Mac app. Likely done with H&R Block.
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

tax return disappeared - unable to check status.

Easy to prepare and submit to IRS and CA. Problem was after I filed my tax return. When it offered to save, I thought it would change the return already filed, so I said no. Then when I went back to view the status the return was gone. I think I should have been warned that I would have no copy of the return I filed if I did not save after filing.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

lacked explanation of some accuracy review results
hard to get through Microsoft firewall
wasted money on efile program found that i can not e-file at the end of the program during the fix your e-file issues

Good, but some confusion

As a first time do your own taxes, self-employed independent contractor, this software was especially good at calculating carry-over gains and losses. There was some confusion, however, about expense deductions, adjustments and credits. The software could have clarified those distinctions during each questions section, rather than at the end of each category.

I have used this for 3 years now and will likely continue. I do have questions and can't get answers without going on line and that is convuouted. The advisories at the end were confusing because when I went back into the form couldn't see anything to fix.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
