This software has all of the updates and explanations to guide you through the process timely and accurately.

Harder than last year

I have been using HRBlock at home for over 10 years. This year I had a lot of trouble with the real estate rental income. This was not new for this year and it didn't import the information from 2017. I finally had to delete everything regarding this and completely start over. This is the first time I have had any trouble with the program. I also worked at HR Block as a tax professional for 10 years before I started using the program at home. Was disappointed in the trouble I had this year. I realize everything underwent a dramatic change this year but that was done early in the year so you should have had plenty of time to rewrite these programs.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

2018 Tax Program Very Good As Expected

The 2018 program worked fine, despite the massive changes to the tax code and the IRS forms. I found a couple of non-critical issues that I could work around with minimal effort.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

Reliable and familiar

I have used this version for about 8 years and rely on it for accurate tax return preparation. I have become familiar and comfortable with the interview process and prefer it. The Calif version gave me some problems this year when it did not automatically accept renter's credit entry. I had to override the entry to make it stick. This should not happen since my daughter fully qualified for the credit on her own return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

We have been using H&R Premium now for 20 years. Very happy with the program accuracy and support! Had an audit several years ago, all went well and had full support in preparation. H&R tax software is top of the line!

Took me 3 hours to do my Fed and State taxes

It took me 3 hours to do my Federal and State Taxes including a rental property. It helps that I used the software last year so most of the data was imported, I just had to update the numbers. I highly recommend.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

Great program , easy to use

I am glad i bought this program this year. In addition to my regular earnings, this year i have a Sole Proprietorship and this made it easy to do the return correctly.
