Works best for DIY Taxes with little added help

I have never used a CD based software to file taxes, its been always online, I decided to give it a try! It was slightly confusing at first but within minutes I got back to where I wanted to be with my returns - adding forms and using calculators. Would definitely use it next year!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

I do like the product and will use it next year. I would suggest that a section be put in to deal with what to do if a form hasn't been received. Most of the time you have to fill out another form to explain the issue and the fact that you are estimating it. For example; if you don't receive the K-1 form, then you fill out an 8082 form to explain the discrepancy. Finding these forms is a time consuming process on the IRS website. Another thing is to explain what you do in an inheritance if the trustee doesn't file a 8971 form because of the estate being under a $ amount. Just some suggestions to improve your product.

Great product been using for years

Glad to be able to continue using this product. My wife and I have been using this product for years and have been very pleased. Interview process covers everything you need and the fix it portion at the end makes it easy to ensure accuracy without the intimidation of looking at the piles of forms. Great for rental property owners and we plan to use it for our property management small business filing starting next year.

Cons: Hard to import documents

I bought program 5 free Then find out activation code is not valid whats with this when you accept my money now I have to pay again to file

I have used H&R Block Premium for a number of years now, and have been satisfied with the accuracy of the calculations and the ease of use. My only real negative to report this year is that the new "save to pdf" function is not explained well. I gave up after several tries and simply saved to a flash drive, which is only good as long as the original program is still installed on my computer. I hope that they fix that issue for 2019. Other than that, I'd recommend this for people with moderately complex tax returns.

Tiny and fixed font size challenging for seniors

I've been using H&R Block software for decades. But as my eye sight worsens with my age (I'm 60), the font size on this software has remain unchanged, and unchangeable. It therefore starts to feel outdated, compared to other more senior-friendly softwares.
My plea to H&R Block is: either increase the font sizes (as screen resolutions increase) or allow users some options to choose font sizes (S-M-L). Or risk losing one customer next year.

Cons: Hard to prepare

Easy to use

I have used H&R Block for many years, it imports last year's return and filled in all the repeated data automatically. I only need to fill in any specific data for the current year. Online help is very helpful, forms can be edited to fix any error at the end. I really like it! The only thing missing from Colorado state is form 0617. H&R Block can include all those forms in the future release.

Terrible at handling MSA Form 8853

I was always told that I cannot file electronically because both my wife and I are required to provide separate 8853 Forms. I filled in info in the questionaire for each of us, yet the program is only showing one 8853 with NO data entered in Section B. You program is also telling me I can file electronically. I am not going to do that.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
