I highly recommend this software!

Wow! This program saved me over $100 as compared to having a tax preparer do my return. I had one form I didn't know how to complete, and the program walked me through the process question by question.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

I had some trouble entering data for a property I sold and directions of where to go for assistance were hard to locate. It took too long and involved an extensive search. Also, the was some problem with entering Misc. income. I correctly entered the amount where the program asked for it, but upon the last step where the program indicates problems, I had to enter it into the form.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast

Some Glitches

My sole proprietorship receives a very small royalty for published music. This year it was only $25. At one point my H&R Block software insisted I had more than a $5000 loss because of this royalty– and I did NOT enter it as a rental. Not sure how I finally fixed this problem, but it was very frustrating & time consuming. I understand taxes quite well– I was a CFP at one time. So I expect tax preparation software to be logical and clear.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked well as usual. My only suggestion is that you allow us to bypass the deduction questions if we already know we won't be able to itemize under the new tax law. I had to go through and manually delete those questions based on last year's return. Next year if I am able to itemize, I hope I will be able to bring them up again.
