Could use modification

I have used H&R Block for over 30 years. Always very reliable and includes great features. Only one comment on improvement. At the end, just before the AIG, include the question, how did you file last year. This is important when changing from joint to separate or separate to joint and you import last years data to begin. EX. if you import joint and decide to file separate, only the preparer can file electronically, as when you file the other separate, it is rejected by IRS as the AIG does not agree with prior year, since prior year was joint. Would like feedback on this. Even your customer service reps don't know.

Does not meet maximum refund status

Retirement benefits not taxable in my state, but the software included retirement benefits as additional income. After several phone calls, was able to reach a person who helped me over ride the software. Otherwise, the refund would have been $500 less.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Have used this software for years. Always easy to navigate. Never had any e file issues or computer glitches with it. Will be back next year.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Fast

Best Program for Self Employed People

I enjoyed using this software and my experience with 2018 Tax Filing was the best one I have had since 2012. H&R Block have written this program well. There were two problems I had during the review portion that took about a half an hour to solve. The program could not automatically move data to the correct area. I will be using this again next year for sure.

I have been using this software for my tax returns for over 15 years. I have compared with other software, and every year, H&R block beat the others for the refund.
