I've used H&R Block software for a number of years now. This year's software was a bit glitchy at times. I would fill out W-2 and 1099 information, only to come back later, and some of the information was lost. Once I went back and fixed, there were no further issues.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Can't e-file due to a program problem.

BEWARE- There are problems with the program resolving the Self-Employed Health Insurance deduction with the ACA Premium Tax Credit. The software may fail to complete the iterative calculation and prevent you from using your "free" Federal Income Tax e-filing. This will also generally prevent you from e=filing your state income tax, if you have one. I've tried everything and redone it several times. I've done the calculations by hand. The numbers are correct, but it won't allow e-filing. This is not an isolated problem. Do an internet search. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Good but needs to do better.

Better than last years, but still needs some improvements.
1) Shouldn't have to wait for the 4/3/26 update in order to complete my return, but the QBI section was not fully functional.
2) Unable to file state return electronically because the system cannot accommodate more than 9 sources of interest income. That's pretty bad. Printing out the forms, packaging and mailing is barbaric! Just increase the field size or at least warn us of the shortcoming so we can choose a better software solution.

This software is fantastic. When I compare it to the Intuit Turbo tax that I have been using for 40 years I must say that the H&R software is far superior. It's very easy to install and use. I am thrilled with this software. Did I mention it runs on Windows 10? No complaints here... none!
