All as good EXCEPT the Updates. It just saying x amt of minutes to finish. But then had to stop via CTR-ALT-DEL. When I went back to program, it was completed. Also, said I was unable to download the state program. I just gave up and went to the state website and had to re-enter all info. WAY too much time wasted wirh this stuff.
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using this version of the software for several years and it works well. Being able to use the previous years information speeds up the process significantly. There are a few issues when the software won't allow me to fill out some of the forms and worksheets in what seems to be a logical fashion. Overall I am very satisfied and will continue to use this software again next year.

H&R Block software guides the user through the various areas in tax preparation, and is easy to use. I have nothing to compare it to - in terms of software - but I like being in control of managing my taxes as opposed to paying a tax prep person. Prior to my retirement, I used the software in a reasonably complex business, and now I use it to manage the tax aspects of my investments. It is pretty cool to just select your finance company - like Fidelity - and all tax information is downloaded and applied to the appropriate fields. Less thinking for an old guy :).

I think it was great for the price. I ended up having to pay twice for a state because it was rejected and I couldn’t figure out how to resubmit what I already paid for. It also was very delayed on releasing forms that the brick and mortar shop had already. But overall I would still use it over going in an office.

sold a second home this year and had a hard time understanding how to document this on the program. perhaps a more descriptive set of questions pr directions would have made this easier....otherwise, this is much easier than turbotax which I had used for years

you got me through my taxes but the software is not so easy as I'd like. State return is particularly vague. and paying to file for the state seems very unfair. I pay my taxes; why should I pay to allow me to pay?
