Many issues. Chatted with help. They told me to manually override many entries. I have used for over 20 years. Worst year ever. Switching to TurboTax.

Overall, the software is straightforward; however, it assumes that you fully understand the definitions of what is being asked. Hover over help on all input field would eliminate or greatly reduce any confusion as to what is expected for entry for each input field.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

i have used taxcut for many years, the new one dud not upload last years nearly as well as others did, also its tough to get a tax answer from help, but you can get software answers pretty well.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to import documents

Error in software - still not fixed from last year

The federal software should pass through estimated taxes for state and does not pass thorugh 4th quarter. Manual fix then prohibits e-filing. Last year and this year H&R block software is not doing a simple and expected caluculation correclty. And this is a PREMIUM version I paid for. So disappointed it is in error 2 years in a row. Terrible expereience and such a hassle.

I found the software file itself to be a little unreliable for this version of HR Block. It sometimes would not open and the required updates after the beginning of the year would not complete seamlessly, appearing as though the update failed and requiring that the update be started again. I was eventually able to complete my taxes but with some effort. It also seemed that some of the calcs from HR Block's software last year were wrong (thankfully on nothing critical for the prior year's submission--double check your capital loss carryovers calculations!) but an import of data caused THIS year's taxes to be wrong in my first pass through, so I had to redo and submit values manually to avoid problems. I have been using HR software for years, but is was a bad enough experience to make me rethink next year. Keep pushing AI into the process and the decision to drop HR will be easy.
