I've been using HR Block software for about 10 years. Every couple of years I find something that makes me want to switch to another software program due to little things that seem to be glitches. This year I nearly completed my taxes and while in the state part of the program, I saved the file then came back to it to verify some answers, then when I hit the file button, a part changed and I couldn't find a way to change it back to what I wanted. It had to do with letting my overpaid taxes staying with my state to pay next years quarterlies.
At the risk of messing up anything else, I just filed and will be getting some $ back.

State version does NOT support e-file for PTET credit.
39 states allow this credit for partnerships, and has been in effect since 2023;
Now have print and mail in 70+ pages of federal and state returns, and include supporting 1099s :(

Except for the section on Required Minimum Distributions, the program is great. It is intuitive and thorough. I found that I need to manipulate the RMD answers to avoid a penalty. Maybe I don't understand the terminology but it seems to be a difficult section.

Lacks basic features

I have used hr block for taxes for over 20 years. For 2025 they no longer supported 1099 import. This resulted in 4 hours of my time to manually load data. I WILL NOT it the product again and do not recommend it.
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
