I was filing MFJ with a deceased spouse, once I indicated that there was a deceased tax payer on the return it would have been helpful if the program had given me specific advise in how to proceed. On previous returns my name was listed second so I started the return with that order, then thought better of it and switched the names and checked the spouse to be deceased instead of the taxpayer but the program didn't forget that I had previously listed the taxpayer as deceased and decided we were both deceased and embroiled me into completing the info for Form 1310. I had to go on line to find out that the name of the surviving spouse should be listed first on the return, and get clear information about how to receive a refund check. As soon as system knew that the return had a deceased spouse (one or the other of us - we can both be described as a spouse. A whole lot of information should have popped up but no, just what was to me a lot of confusing info about completing the 1310. Also the program gave me grief over a W2 wanting to know the State reporting # which was not shown on the W2 and how much State tax was withheld, which was not shown because nothing had been withheld. It didn't like "o" In the end I had 3 returns going and had to be careful not to confuse them because I couldn't delete the trash ones. At one point I was thinking of trying another tax software but battled on and was able to electronically file the Fed and mail the State. The program did give me very specific info about how to prepare the State for mailing and writing the check for tax due. But finally the program asked if I wanted to save the program in some way, I clicked on the PDF option and clicked "yes" to allowing it to make changes to the computer and now my computer won't print anything.!! Thank goodness that I have a granddaughter who will come and put it right for me. Will I use H & R Block next year? We will see, my return will be much simpler no W2 for one thing.

Have used the H&R Block tax software for many years and find it easy to use and a bit cheaper than the TurboTax program.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product was not better than Turbo Tax. The inability to increase the font size made it difficult to see, Chat GPT answered my questions far better than the built in tax assistant. Additionally, the software did not do a good job handling royalty income or capital loss carryovers.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works well for us year after year. I had to use TurboTax for 2024 since HR did not support the credit form needed when we installed an EV charger. Also, I tried using the Ohio tax form for 2025 but the program did not grab the correct income amount from Schedule E since we have rental properties in two non-residence states. I really like the program and will continue to purchase each year as long as they don't require Windows 11. A web version would be OK but I'd love a Linux version.

Overall good product. Very annoying not able to read PDF W2 and other tax forms from financial institutions.

I have been using your software for years but am disillusioned with this years version. I went thru the interview process and found that answering all your questions correctly led to 'issues' later on, even though I followed your advice exactly.
