I use H&R block every year. But this year they cost me over $1000 in refunds. Their IDAHO state software does not consider Military Retirement pay. This pay is tax free in Idaho for retirees over 62. Now I need to file an amended return.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

MY SON HAS PURCHASED THIS PROGRAM THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. HE SITS AND HELPS ME FILL IT OUT. I'M OVER 90 WITH POOR EYESIGHT. IT SEEMS EASY TO UNDERSTAND AS HE READS ME THE QUESTIONS.

It is good. There's still a lot of jargon that isn't well explained for some items. I feel like if I purchase this product, I shouldn't have to go looking terms, explanations, etc. up. It should be made pretty obvious for the general population. That said, it tends to go smoothly.
