Federal worked well. It did not properly transfer all K-1 information on a farm sold in Iowa to the Iowa forms. Also an adjustment to income from the Iowa K-1. As a result, I learned how to do it from web (including HR Block) and did Iowa forms by hand.
Cons: Time consuming

Works well, but the updates are a bit slow to be done versus Turbo Tax. Also had one return that had the prior year AGI incorrect. Luckily I noticed it before I e-filed and was able to correct it.

Bought the Premium and, as always, very helpful. Saves me time and frustration figuring out the tax rules. However, I would like to see the option to skip the attempt to itemize deductions when we know we will not be itemizing deductions. That would save additional time.

It was difficult to discern which form had yet to be finalized that was blocking my ability to e-file. It turned out to be the Planning for 2026 form, which doesn't even go to the IRS. It also wasn't easy to find out how to download my State software. Otherwise, the questionnaires were easy to follow and complete.

I have used H&R Block Premium for a number of years now, and it is always easy to navigate and provides excellent insight as you complete your taxes. If you could ensure that all forms are ready no later than Jan 31, it would make things much better. Every year my taxes are complete before the end of Jan, but I have to wait until the end of February to file due to the same forms every year. Everytime I have downloaded the update for these forms, there are no changes, even if I walk back through the whole thing again. Despite this, It is still a great product!

I’ve been using this software for years. Had to wait for three delays in form update. Delayed filing by 4 weeks.
Onscreen directions to get from page to page could be better explained and have a more logical placement on the page. I will probably buy again, but used to be far more intuitive. A button you need should not be placed at the bottom of the page, off the visible screen.
