Maybe the best around for me.

I use this yearly. I am sort of stuck with it because some less common issues like charity carryovers wouldn't transfer to another software. Overall works well but it took forever this year to figure out how to enter my state 2025 payments made in 2025 as I missed them when doing the federal (that's the only place you can enter them). I would make that easier to find.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using this basic product since Kiplinger days. Although the product is basically the same, recently it has become more difficult to interface with. (Iess human error friendly). The program used to advise you and flag the paths not well troden by normal customers (e.g. side notes that say this is not normal to enter Yes)
For example in the program questionnaire it will ask if you are SSA exempt, in the help section it will refer to SSA exemptions - but it does not tell you what SSA is, that you have to work out for yourself. (A simple example). Also if you do make a mistake in entry, the program takes you into unknown terrotory, but going back to fix it - without warning leads you down another rabbit hole of entry deletion that you thought you had covered. By using the same program year after year, I would have that ALL the information entered for year before would be there this year - e.g. AGI and created passwords. But you have to go back to your prior years file. That is not carry over.
The reason I have used this product for such a long time was the ease of use, good guidance which gave confidence that it was all completed properly.

Very user friendly. I think I've bought this 4 years in a row now. I upgraded to premium, but I am not sure what benefit I achieved by doing that as I still had to pay for filing my state taxes. I thought premium covered that cost, but I suppose I did not read the instructions correctly.

tried to efile return and was rejected twice. The reason was the AGI listed did not match. The AGI was inputted by the software from last year.
Cons: Time consuming

Wasn't as user friendly as I'm used to. Missouri State tax software was incomplete. After completing Federal and state tax. It said everything was great. It waited until the filing to tell me there were errors. Wanted to charge for state efile and didn't print needed forms to file by mail.
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
