The small bottles of nutrients that come in kits are quickly used and if you plant your Aerogarden with your own seeds, there isn't enough. This larger size bottle was much more economical for my needs.

Part of the huge success of the aero garden system must be attributed to the fertilizer and buying by the liter is much more economical. I also like that it doesn't have an odor and easily blends in with the water in the garden container
