After doing a lot of research I purchased this ice maker from ABT.com and it is really as good as described. The self-cleaning function was a huge selling point for me. I had a different and much more expensive ice maker which just never worked correctly and I had to toss it after 1 yrs use because the interior was permanently stained and not for lack of cleaning. I chose this brand/model over the Avanti (which also dispenses cold water) because of the self cleaning function and I am glad i did. The unit is silent and easy to maintain and I actually like the single cube size since I have had other units where you can choose various ice cube sizes, but they never work.
I would like to purchase a spare plug and cover for the water outlet and if you could tell me where to buy one I would appreciate it.
It is really a nice machine. It takes some time to make the ice and you are constantly empting out the ice into plastic ziplocks bags. It really does take a full day or two to make 50 pounds of ice. I use bottle water or my water from the RO system that is in my house. The ice taste better.

No Ice

I just received my new ice maker, filled it with water, but the water is not moving into the back chamber to make the ice. After a minute, then the No Water light comes on, but the front container where you pour in the water is up to the fill line. Is it defective, or am i missing something?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If your ice maker isn't producing ice at all or is producing crescents or cubes that are smaller than usual, it's typically indicative of a clog somewhere along the supply line. Another possible cause is the heat output is blocked or the water temperature/ambient temperature is too high. Clean any dust off the air inlet and outlet. Lastly, please give your unit a hard reboot. Unplug it and plug it back in after 15-20 minutes. This allows the unit to go back to factory settings. Just purchased & prepped, now making ice cubes. Although it's not as fast as I'd prefer, it does a good job. Seems I can go 3-4 cycles before neededing to empty the basket & get ice cubes into freezer. Sure does a lot more than the one here previously.
I would recommend this to a friend!
