Better Than Ever!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Our prior Kitchen Aid DW - we had new - 22 1/2 years ago. I am so glad that we insisted on another KA model. Absolutely our best new appliance! Dishes come out gleaming - even removes peanut butter off kitchen knives. KA dishwasher comes HIGHLY recommended!

Just okay.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this for 3 weeks. It has left a ring around a glass that has been through the cycle twice. Once on normal wash and once on heavy wash. My coffee cup still was dirty on the inside bottom of the cup. I don't feel it is doing the most excellent wash that you would expect from a new dishwasher. I like the top tray for utensils, however my ladle had quite a bit of residue on it. Most of the glasses are clear and sparkly. It is very quiet, which is a welcome change from my old dishwasher.

Mostly happy

This model has many of the features we were looking for; it is very quiet, has a number of settings that are useful (express, rinse only etc.) and it really cleans the dishes well! Where we are having problems is with the actual racks that the dishes go in... The top cutlery rack is good, but plates, bowls etc don't stand up straight when loaded in the other 2 racks, they flop over and can rattle a bit. Another problem for us is the fact that we can't place our wine glasses in the racks, we already broke one. We then purchased clips made for this model to help, but found they couldn't accommodate our red wine glasses, only our white. We do spend time trying to make things work with the racks, I just need easy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Two washes, two small water leaks. Repair guys diagnosed that the rubber door seal in upper left corner had pushed back, thus causing a small leak. They did a temp fix; new door seal ordered.

Exterior rust within 1 year

Exterior exhibited rust within 1st year. We have a kitchen full of KitchenAid products and when it came time to replace our aged KitcheAid dishwasher the choice was easy. Well, so we thought. We ordered this one and a year later the steam vent showed rust around the opening. After contacting KitchenAid over and over they said it is a cosmetic issue and is not covered by warranty. We are not finishing our basement and decided against KitchenAid products for this reason.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
