DO NOT BUY Purchased some time in the spring from walmart, stopped working with a melted plastic smell and smoke DO NOT BUY

Not a safe product, after about 6 months this kettle has a power base that has meted around the wiring in the center and caused the connections to come loose. The burning plastic smell started near sept 1 and following inspection it has been determined that there is insufficient support for the hot electrical connections resulting in the plastic securing clips turning to liquid. Extremely poor quality and testing. Being as this was purchased in Nelson ,bc ,Canada, the shipping cost to send this back for a replacement under Warranty will far exceed replacing with a different manufacturer. no more Kalorik for this family. product #2 failure.

Fast Boil but it leaks

I can not recommend this kettle although I really love how quickly this boils a full pot of water. I have to pour the heated water into my French press over the sink otherwise it's leaks the very hot water and leaves a mess all over my kitchen counter. This has been happening since Day 1 and it only happens when the water has been heated - we tested it and it doesn't leak when the kettle is filled with hot water from the tap. It leaks just below the spout where the plastic band wraps around the glass. Maybe I have a defective one ? :(

Leaks when pouring

I really like the kettle but it leaks when pouring the water out. Have to pour over sink and be very careful not to burn myself with the leaking water.
