Perfect Christmas Centerpiece

We bought this set to compliment the Christmas train. It's adorable on the dining room table. My 7 year old son was able to put it together with a little help. I think the age rating is higher than what it needs to be. It has lots of adorable little accents like the kitchenette and gift wrapping station in the elf house, etc. Combined with the toys from the train set, my son has the elves at work making toys for Christmas. He had loads of fun imagining why the elves would have one of Santa's reindeer. Apparently they were good for TWO years straight to deserve a reindeer all of their own.

Cute, Awesome, Horribly smushed

Our family always buys a big “family” LEGO each year. My 6yo is an avid builder. My husband finished the mega sized Millennium Falcon just last month. My bedroom is full of space LEGOs. So, I would hardly call us newbies - which is why we were totally shocked to pull out the manual for this set and it is rolled, bent, etc. This is not normal and it was very disappointing - we all know how important the manual is for the sets, right? LEGO, you can do better than this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Elf House

My 6 year old son and I had a blast building this set. His Elf brought it one day. We love the small details.
The instructions were nice and straight forward. Colors are nice and the waffle maker made my son’s day. Very fun to play with and not super delicate like some builds.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to print the directions on black paper did not know how difficult brick colors would be to access. Clever maybe, but not a good idea.
Set is very cute. Bought for grandkids to help put it together as they have done with the past holiday sets.

Fun to build and looks great as part of our Christmas Lego decorations. Would have given five starts but had one complaint - the pages in the booklet are black and it was difficult to determine pieces, many of which are dark brown. Our last Christmas Lego set (Winter Village Fire Station) had light blue pages.
