Quick review: A remarkable milestone for Ideas

Quick thoughts:
- The set is SO much better in person. It's huge! And the details look fantastic
- I love the light brick which adds so much to the set
- The side builds are simplistic yet incredibly well thought out. It puts a lot of modulars to shame.
- Minor gripes: The tree is flimsy and I wish there was maybe one more knight
Overall: I love this. It's inspired me so much creatively and I can't wait to expand it with my own kingdom.

This is a great set, love the extra details to make this historical building. The minifigures are awesome as well, the additional armor and wagon is the cherry on top. Overall this is one of the best Lego sets I have built. Hope to see more historical builds like this one.

Gorgeous Build

I looked forward to receiving the Medieval Blacksmith. The review has rightfully called the build as one of the most impressive in 2021. After putting it together, I have to admit the hype is real. It is an incredible build with so many little details that you can see the love the designers put into the set. I am picking up the Lego Ideas sets since they are created by the community -- and am looking forward to Sonic in a couple of days.
One small negative - the instruction manual does not display Brown Bricks very well. This set has quite a few Brown bricks of varying sizes and shapes and at times it was hard to distinguish which ones to use. It all worked-out but this is common across all the manuals I have seen,

Renewed my childhood obsession

I’ll start by saying, I haven’t purchased Lego before but I picked up this set in lieu of a puzzle to work on with my wife due to our cats destroying the last puzzle we tried. This set started off as a stress reliever for us to work on after the kids were put to bed and transformed in to an obsession. The design and detail are next level and completely blew away any Lego set I built as a kid. I’m also a sucker for anything medieval. I never would have even thought of getting a Lego set as an adult but I was drawn in by the 18+ “adults welcome” marketing and the complex nature of the design. Needless to say I will be happily forking over too much cash if Lego decides to expand or even develop a theme with more sets in the modular style medieval buildings/castles.

This might be the most fun I’ve had on a build in years. This set is beautiful and very detailed. No large pre-formed pieces are used. The colors are striking. I love the roof design.

This set is just an absolute joy. Wonderful to build, with lots of variation to keep it interesting and techniques that felt fun without being too brutal. Set is fullnof character and life with great playability and displayability once completed. Can't reccomend highly enough. Would love to see more in this theme.

I love it. I only recently (the last year or so) got back into a LEGO hobby after a long hiatus—I had thought I had "outgrown" LEGO, more fool me! When I was a kid, I used to love and treasure the castle sets, and they really fueled a big part of my continuing love for medieval history. When this set came out, I knew I needed it. I put in a request with family for my birthday, then Hannukah, and still no LEGO set, so I finally just bought it for myself, and it was worth. Every. Penny. The intricacy of the build was at just the right level for me to always feel intrigued and never bored. The build was also ordered in such a way that I could see the details gradually coming together, constantly whetting my excitement for more. The levels of detail both internally and externally are beyond what I could have hoped for (I'm particularly partial to the rug on the uppermost floor!). It took me probably 8-10 hours spread over the course of the week to fully assemble, a good, satisfying amount of time for the money spent. Ever since, this build has been sitting in its designated area on my desk, tempting me to create stories and adventures for the characters it contains. I have repeatedly rearranged the figures in different poses and areas, continually marveling at the range of possibilities this piece affords. I really love it, and I would be so delighted if this were the first in a line of Medieval builds targeted at adults.
