Love this set

I absolutely loved building this set. It was challenging, creative, and full of surprises at every turn. I’m a big fan of all the medieval sets (this is the next door neighbor to the Viking Village). I look forward to continuing with the Lion’s Knight Castle in the future!

Throwback Memories

Seriously though I have been waiting for some castle sets for awhile. When Pirates of Barracuda Bay dropped last spring it was like a throwback to my 90’s childhood. I remember seeing the ORIGINAL Blacksmith shop in a Lego catalog in like 2000 and unfortunately never had the chance to buy it. This time is different. These throwback sets to the days when I was a kid are truly special and hold a real place in my heart as a builder and Lego fan.

This set just got me back into LEGO! I was looking for a hobby now that I am retired. Absolutely loved building this. When I was done, I decided to customize it to my likes and colors. I think I will buy several sets and well...I have a lot of ideas on how to expand this.

I really love the look of this build, I think they really nailed the exterior. The interior is a bit cramped, but still usable. The only issues that I had with the set is that sometimes it was hard to tell which color piece I was supposed to be using, and the tree was just kinda repetitive to build and it falls apart a lot.

Favorite set yet.

I recently got back into Lego a few months ago due to an injury and this has been my favorite set yet. Lots of unique pieces with a fun and interesting build. The finished product is a beautifully detailed architectural masterpiece that nails the the medieval theme right on the head. My absolute favorite part about this set compared to other recent purchases is that it was all printed or textured pieces and no stickers! You get a lot of high quality pieces in this set for the price in my opinion. I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Very nice building with a misprint

The building is very detailed from the workshop on the bottom level all the way up to the shingles. I really like the black falcon figures, blacksmith, and hunter. The horse is a nice color but unfortunately the printing was off.

More Like This, Please!

I’ve been a Lego enthusiast for more than 25 years and couldn’t tell you how many sets I’ve built in that time. I can say that this medieval blacksmith set is among my top 3 favorite sets all-time including all of the most popular themes. Beautiful and charming design, full of nostalgia for the medieval themes of Lego’s past, and so much more to build than you’d expect. These days, I build one or two sets a year, and I love coming back to Lego after a bit of time has passed and seeing all of the improvements they’ve made. That continuous improvement has been in the company’s DNA since I can remember. For this blacksmith set, what really struck me were the colors and the artistry. The way the designers created a weathered look for the roof, the interior touches, and all of the little hidden surprises are just delightful. And if I’m honest, this set is a very high value as well, given it’s part count and price. That’s a benefit of a model that doesn’t have to cover the cost of licensing (that would be paid to a brand/production studio/etc). I would love to see this set inspire a new launch of medieval sets designed in the same “expert creator” way. Would be an irresistible return to a classic Lego theme, and I know I’m not alone in that!

Although the original LEGO ideas version was better I still think this is a solid build. The overall design is really nice looking. I love the atmosphere of this set and would definitely recommend it to any midevil fans
