I grew up in the eighties with old themes like pirates and castle. I always loved the Medieval Market Village set, but never thought the houses were big enough, nor complete enough. Growing up in Northern Europe, these kind of houses are everywhere in the old cities and villages. I'm forever great full to the young German man who thought this up and made it come to reality. It is built in record time, for this old man, and sits now proudly on it's shelf. Makes me have a huge smile on my face to see it there;... it ticks all the boxes for me: Gorgeous building with clever building techniques, throwback to the Castle theme which was VERY MUCH OVERDUE !, huge memories for me who lived in houses like that in Europe growing up. Even better that it includes a (Red !) light brick for the forge part; and it works beautifully... I'm so happy with this set that I decided to write this review; I'm older now, build still lots of Lego's in my free time and am a huge collector;... but this set is now one of the most prized possessions in my collection. So I decided to write this up. Great overall set, definitely a must buy for Lego Castle fans, older Europeans like me, and people who loved detailed buildings like the Modular Series... Maybe not the cheapest set to get; but it is "Oh, so worth it" to get this one when you can...
So glad I made myself brave the mall in order to snag this before it sold out. I loved the old castle sets as a kid but hadn't indulged in any large scale buildings in a long time, so this was a great way to get back into it while enjoying all the ways Lego has changed and improved over the years. So many new colors and styles to enjoy!
The real joy of new adult-aimed sets like this compared to my childhood sets is all the interior details. Sure, they're not that visible once it's finished, but they add so much to the build experience. The light-up forge, the upstairs fireplace, the writing desk with quill and ink pot, the bed with colorful quilt, and the kitchen range complete with stewpot are just delightful!
Not a lot of repetition here, which was nice, and some new ways of building things that I enjoyed a lot (the tree was fun, nothing like the stuff from the 80s). I managed to stretch it over five evenings by rationing the bags to only three at a time, though it was definitely hard not to just binge the whole thing in a day. Looks great as a display piece, and I'm hoping for more along this line that could go together thematically.
Bought and built this set for myself! The build is challenging but rewarding and fun. The finished model is gorgeous and the architecture is vividly detailed. It's a great size for your money, I was (pleasantly) surprised how big it was. The figs are great and it's a nice throwback to some classic themes. Would recommend!
Well this set is amazing! Everything but 1 thing...the messed up green colors. On the bed and some leaves, the colors are really off like on the Lamborghini Sian. I have given it a 5 star because it doesn't take away from the build at all! I did a speed build on my YouTube Channel. Name is KingdomsBricks. Thanks Lego for this amazing set!!!
Awesome. Glad this made it through the review stage. If you sub to Bricktubedav you can see the vid. I’m getting it in March. I built some with a friend of mine.
Possibly the best medieval LEGO set ever produced!

I have always been a major fan of the Castle and Medieval themed sets, but this Medieval Blacksmith set has to be by far my most favorite medieval themed set ever to be released. The build was fun, it has major playability, and the realistic look and feel of the building is second to none. While I would have preferred a goat to the husky we get, it doesn’t change my review. Great job LEGO, keep up the excellent work!
