This set is my first of the Ideas theme, the building techniques in this set are amazing, the overall theme is great and I recommend this to anyone who loves medieval builds.

Amazing set

I felt compelled to leave my first review after finishing this set... I love it! I bought it b/c I thought that with some minor edits it would be a nice addition to my winter village, but as I worked through it I think it has become my favorite set. I still plan to do some minor modifications to make it fit within my winter village.
When I first unpacked one of the black falcon shields... I had to sit and stare at it for a few minutes, wow, what a flashback.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great display AND playset!

Originally this set wasn't on my radar, but as the release date approached I decided I should get it. My 6 year old son loves doing battles between Star Wars and my Lego city setup so I thought a massive Castle theme would be great for him and I to play with. I ordered a bunch of retired castle sets and built them on a 25 baseplate table setup we have. Then we waited for this one. First off, he couldn't wait for the last bag with the Black Falcons. He loves their heraldry. He and my 9 year old daughter took turns building. They got very frustrated with the tree and I had to monitor the roof for some spacing mistakes. I did only a few steps and they enjoyed the build. It pained me to observe because I wanted to build it myself ;) Anyway, now it is placed in our scene and my son loves it. The light brick is a nice touch. Bravo, Lego!

Good But.....

Well this set is amazing! Everything but 1 thing...the messed up green colors. On the bed and some leaves, the colors are really off like on the Lamborghini Sian. I have given it a 5 star because it doesn't take away from the build at all! I did a speed build on my YouTube Channel. Name is KingdomsBricks. Thanks Lego for this amazing set!!!

One of the best of any sets

This set was a day 1 purchase for me. Being a fan of Lego since the late 80’s, I’ve had plenty of castle sets growing up. This set purchase was a no-brainer. The design is excellent. It is a great display piece that also offers a good amount of play value. The extra knight minifigs were a great addition. The look of the blacksmith shop is a big step up from the last one Lego released and that is a great set itself. The price per piece for this set is also a decent value. My only negative comment would be that the tree design, while very cool, could use some filling in. I think the idea was good but it doesn’t have enough branches or leaves. This can be remedied by building onto it yourself. Overall this is one of my favorite sets and I hope Lego considers more castle themed sets for future release. A must buy!

Really Cool Set

I really enjoyed building this set and stretched it out over a couple days. The value is definitely there for the awesome pieces you receive and it took me back to the classic castle sets from when I was a kid. I hope they do a medieval theme, so I can spend my adult dollars on it haha.
Let's put it this way: the set was so good, I am tempted to buy two more of them so I can build additional medieval buildings to go with it...

Everything I Expected and More

When I was younger, I used to love Lego castle-themed sets more than any other (I also grew up poor so I very often had to make do with my own pieces and pictures from the catalog lol). This set immediately caught my eye and I knew that I had to have it. Not only is it visually unique from any other set that I’ve seen, but there are so many little details and things added that bring life to it. I had actual fun building it, and as it came together I could really imagine the mini figures living and working in it. Despite that, I could really tell that this is a set tailored to a more experienced audience. It took me a little longer to build than I expected it to, so that was also a plus. Listen to me, people at Lego: if more sets are produced that are akin to this one, I will buy every single one.
