What More Could You Ask?

We finally get Castle again! Need I say more?
But if I must, then I will. This is a great set. It's the biggest, and in my opinion best, medieval themed set LEGO's ever done. It's not just the size that I appreciate. It's that LEGO took this to MOC level, with the amount of detail and planning in this set. In the first place, there are actually sensible ways for the minifigs to get to the different levels, which most sets in general, not just castle, lack. Also, it's actually correctly scaled to minifigs, which most other LEGO castle themed sets aren't. Speaking of the minifigs, they're awesome. The blacksmith and his wife are fine, but nothing spectacular. However, the Black Falcons are just fantastic, as is their horse. There's really nothing bad about this set. If I want to get really nitpicky, I could say that the apple tree was interesting to build, but from certain angles doesn't look great, and the Black Falcon's cart is fine, but no really that exciting compared to the main blacksmith shop. But if you think about it, those are some pretty pathetic complaints. As another fun bonus, you get a whole pile (~50) of extra pieces, some of which are pretty sweet. All in all, I would definitely recommend picking up this great set.

A trip of nostalgia

I absolutely love this set. I received it as a gift for my 30th birthday. Putting it together was like a trip down memory lane (except this time with a few beers involved).
The set itself is wonderful. The details and features are amazing. I felt like I was stopping after every little bit to send pictures to friends. More medieval sets like this would be great!

Great looking set, broken and missing pieces

Was super anxious to build this set after a stressful day at work. Bag 2, a the table leg was missing and in it's place was a 2x2 brown tile. I thought it odd, so I check through the entire booklet and 2x2 brown tiles weren't used till bag 9. I left a pic of all spare parts, there's a random 2x2 tile where the 2x1 bench leg should be.
Bag 7, a black stud piece for the chair was missing which isn't a big deal as they're extras in the set, but it can be an issue, especially if a MOC uses all extra pieces.
Bag 8, got to step 138, took the staircase out the bag and the 2x1 landing connection at the top of the staircase was broken and each step run is strained. You can see the plastic stress deformation on each step connection. This is the 11th set I've built this year and first set with missing pieces and broken ones ever (ironically in one set). Luckily nothing else was missing/broken. But this took away from the building experience as I was really upset a piece was missing early on in the build and I was holding my breath till the end praying nothing else was missing or broken. Put in orders for replacement parts and just waiting now.

Awesome IDEAS set with too many quality issues

Until about a year ago I never had any quality issues with LEGO sets. But since they have been growing at a rapid pace since the start of the pandemic, quality issues keep coming up.
In this phenomenal LEGO Ideas set, I didn't make it through bag 8. There are so many pieces missing (and replaced with wrong ones) that it is impossible to complete the set.
In the past when I requested missing pieces it took usually 2-4 weeks to get the missing bricks, if I ever got them. In two cases my request for replacement parts were just cancelled and it took over 8 weeks to get the missing pieces.
It's quite sad to see those quality issues not being resolved. In my latest order I bought four sets and I feel like the other sets will probably disappoint as well. The fun has been taken out of the LEGO box, all LEGO boxes, unfortunately.

Good play value, but some issues

The set overall is great, plenty of little details, and a lot of play possibilities. However, I have had multiple brown pieces simply shatter on me during building. I was not forcing them or stressing them in any way. Only happened to that one color.

Romancing the Medieval Period

I really didn't think I was going to like this set as much as my other LEGO sets, but I was wrong. It wasn't a challenging build, but it was fun to build as you seen it come almost to live. The only negative thing I could say about the Blacksmith set is the tree. To put it simply, I think it could had been done better, but I guess LEGO felt that they wanted to give an overall medieval feel to the set. I would imagine this set would bring a lot of play-ability to children as even I had a little fun with it and I'm 56 years old.

To start off I’m sure it’s a great set. My son and myself love the looks of it so I ordered it up for a surprise birthday gift for him. I was very excited to give it to him on his birthday,it was yesterday 3/21/21, ordered on 3/10/21. It still has yet to arrive. While I’m not upset with the purchase, as said I’m sure it’s great! I’m just very disappointed in the delivery so far.

The tree is awful

I marked every field down because of the design of the tree. It is truly awful. It falls apart at the breath of a whisper. Whoever designed this should design one more tree and then quit. Seriously.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
