Perfect Set

This is one of the best sets I have ever purchased. I have been collecting LEGO since I was a little guy. The detail, look, and feel of this set are superior. The only major complaint I have is that the figures can't be comfortably fit through the doors of the shop. Other than that, a phenomenal set.

Medieval Blacksmithy

I love the exterior design for this set. It is a fun build and looks amazing as a display piece. It’s biggest downfall is the minis. The number of 4 minis feels like not enough and the Black Falcons face print feels a bit off. None the less, great set and it looks great by the Lion Knights castle.

Marvelous creation, difficult build
on November 9, 2023

As a multiple decade Lego lover and owner of numerous high end kits, I felt it valid to share some thoughts on the Medieval Blacksmith. When completed, this kits is simply marvelous. I’m very thankful that Lego brought this one to us fans from the ideas world. Just looking at it from across a room, one can see its many thoughtful facets of medieval time, that era and style of living. I smile just looking at it. That said, I can not help but say that this was the most difficult kit I’ve ever built. That difficulty comes solely from the awful instruction manual. The print on the pages was NOT sharp and detailed and the colors all seemed to meld together making it almost impossible in some steps to differentiate the parts. I found myself using the photos on the box quite frequently. Other than the poorly drafted instruction manual, this kit is a wonderful addition to my collection.

We're glad to hear this fan-inspired set transported you to an earlier time! The issues with your building instructions sound very out of the ordinary and we're sorry for the frustration. We'd be happy to take a closer look and provide a new copy if needed at LEGO.build/Service-BV and you can always find clear digital instructions at LEGO.build/BI-BV.

Exquisite detail but odd scale and mini combos

Beautiful display set and very fun build. This set invites customization, from redecorating the roof using your own tiles to many MOC designs that entirely transform it medieval village builds.
Only demerits are for playability due to (1) the modular scale looks totally silly next to other products like the flagship Lion Knights Castle and the Creator 3 in 1 castles, and (2) the odd choice of minifigure heads, such as an elderly man in Falcon Knight uniform. Men of that advanced age would not have been physically fit enough back in the Medieval ages to still be an effective soldier entrusted with important tasks such as weapon deliveries. Both of these detracts from the set's playability score.

Really enjoyed this build. Well designed and excellent value for the price. Another mini fig or two would have been nice, but overall one of my favorite sets.

Loved it, bring back more castle please!

So glad I made myself brave the mall in order to snag this before it sold out. I loved the old castle sets as a kid but hadn't indulged in any large scale buildings in a long time, so this was a great way to get back into it while enjoying all the ways Lego has changed and improved over the years. So many new colors and styles to enjoy!
The real joy of new adult-aimed sets like this compared to my childhood sets is all the interior details. Sure, they're not that visible once it's finished, but they add so much to the build experience. The light-up forge, the upstairs fireplace, the writing desk with quill and ink pot, the bed with colorful quilt, and the kitchen range complete with stewpot are just delightful!
Not a lot of repetition here, which was nice, and some new ways of building things that I enjoyed a lot (the tree was fun, nothing like the stuff from the 80s). I managed to stretch it over five evenings by rationing the bags to only three at a time, though it was definitely hard not to just binge the whole thing in a day. Looks great as a display piece, and I'm hoping for more along this line that could go together thematically.

So much fun to build and admire

At 67 and slowed by cancer, I’ve taken a slow, almost table puzzle approach to building my models. I will build a few pages of the manual, and then walk away. For the next several hours, I will inspect and enjoy what has been constructed so far. This approach multiplies the building experience by many times over the rush to complete in the shortest amount of time. How can I say that I really enjoyed a build experience that I gobbled down, rather than savor every page. Anyways, the slow build makes for an enjoyable experience. It allows you to the bear rug, the writing station, the workshop, the whole economy of this shop which is to craft and trade in swords. The people here are expert metal merchants and trade their skills for food, gold and supplies. They have become very rich in their business as you can easily tell by the elaborate details they built into their workshop.
