I was very excited to get this set. Stood in line 45 mins to make sure I could get my hands on one. My son helped me build this and he really enjoyed the little details such as the donuts and pastries along with the jail cell. The adult display value is great and the kid playability is cheesy as well.
The build was straight forward. I am tempted to get 2 more and make a more scaled precinct building with more cells etc.

Great Modular for my Collection

I must say I enjoyed building this set the most out of other creator expert sets I own. It was straight forward and interesting to see it all come together. There is a lot of details within the interior. The only issue is you cannot see them without taking the separating the floors. There is a story with the set, but I’m not interested in the story as others were. I think the set looks fantastic. The box does nots do it just. One complaint I have is the black pages of the instruction manuals. They made some of the darker pieces hard to make out during construction. I like the black box these adult sets come in, but I do not like the black paged instruction manuals.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing build! Worth the wait!

When I heard the 2021 Creator Expert Modular was going to be a police station I was very excited. Almost 10 years ago I got a city police station, and enjoyed that, but now I am doing a modular based city and needed a police station, and this beautiful build came into my life. The build has lots of fun details, and beautiful architecture. The set also looks very good with lots of other buildings, including the Downtown Diner. Overall I highly recommend that if you can get this build to do so, as it’s a worthwhile set, and adds to anyone’s city in a good way!

LEGO Street Blues

The deeper I got into this project, the more impressed I was at the forethought that went into the interior layout of the "cop shop." Citizens walk into the ground floor to file reports with the desk sergeant. Second floor is where officers write reports or follow up with victims and/or witnesses using the manual typewriter and rotary phone. The alcove for taking mug shots is ingenious. (My only criticism, and it's a minor one, is the lack of a Detective minifigure) Third floor is the admin level: precinct commander's office and private washroom. I smiled a little upon seeing both the washroom and holding cell downstairs come with toilets, which I believe is a first for LEGO. The location of the evidence locker across from the captain's office is entirely logical in that she's able to monitor the comings and goings of her officers.
I didn't understand the purpose for the twin "plaques" at the top of the stairway until I attached the small shields and intuited they were memorials for officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. A nice, poignant touch from my perspective as a retired police officer.
So many wonderful details: the evidence in the property lockers; the phonograph/radio combo and small kitchen in the apartment over the doughnut shop; the bluebird with his trophy doughnut on the window ledge. I found assembly a bit of a challenge at times, but the finished product is well worth the investment of time and energy.
On a closing note, I added minifigures to the rooftop: Commissioner and Barbara Gordon, the latter with her handheld Bat Signal, two Gotham cops and the Dark Knight of course. I imagine them conferring post-midnight about the latest depredations of the Joker.

Great addition

I especially like modulars that break up the block to bring more variety to the landscape. To have 3 elevations in a new layout is great. A lot of people complained about a purple donut shop, but I think it looks great. If I had a complaint, it would be the green side. I don't know what the brown bricks are supposed to represent... wood? ... which would not be a good material to build a jail cell. But it's tucked away and I stil give the set 5 stars for the addition to my modular street.

Still new to the Lego Modular Building series…missed out on some good ones, but the Police Station delivers. Fun doughnut shop with different dimensions to make it sit back from the street. The newsstand is awesome also! Cannot wait to keep adding.

No user friendly instruction

I like the design of this set however the instruction is not very user friendly. The background is printed in black which making color identification challenge. It's also very hard for eyes too. Of all the instruction manual, this is by far the worse. Lego needs to be more thoughtful when it comes to user experience and making their manual friendlier to users.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
