I use the leaf and leather solid cologne as a beard balm and the oak barrel beard balm to tame my beard. My wife and i like the oak barrel and leaf and leathers scents. The solid colognes are wax based like the beard balms but different. I purchased the Best beard balm, the oak barrel beard balm and the leaf and leather solid cologne. In my opinion, the oak barrel beard balm has a nostalgic, slightly grandpa, manly smell and i like it. The leaf and leather solid cologne is my favorite. The best beard balm is too grandpa for me and has a citrus smell i dont care for personally but is not offensive. They all smell strong at first and are barely noticable by evening. All tame beards well. The beard balms have a lower melting point than the solid colgne and dripped in the mail, slightly (I live in the western desert). The screw on lid for the best beard balm stops leaking in the heat but the oak barrel tin leaked and the leaf and leather did not melt as much as the beard balms.
I recommend Duke Cannon replaces all tins with screw type to prevent leaking.

I am a big fan of the earthy scents from DC, and I was hoping they would come out with this product and now here it is! It's got the signature Leaf & Leather scent with the addition of Amber for some added 'sweetness'. I have a low profile beard and like to apply it to my goatee, mustache, and around the jawline. It's one of DC's longer lasting solids and I couldn't be happier with the performance.
