I bought this laptop for a new pastor in a church. After removing the preloaded software I did not need, and adding the software I needed, it has been a perfect addition to it's 23 cousins in the church. Smooth, does video chatting etc well, and fits well with the infrastructure. I have some HP laptops that are over 12 years old and they run well, even with Windows 10 Pro updates. I am sure we will get the same longevity out of this one!

The screen and overall speed are highlights of this machine. It is bundled with HP software which is basically unobtrusive and easy to turn off. The lowlights are the speakers, which are far too quiet, the mic, which does not pick up voice unless you're close to the screen, and the keyboard layout, which is frustrating. The power and home keys flank the backspace and about 50% of the time when I'm trying to correct a typo I send the cursor to the beginning of the line. It's not set up for touch typing. Correct these two flaws and this would be a home run laptop.

For the amount of the money I paid for this laptop as a college student and limited access to money, I am livid that I am having issues with the laptop. It heats up too fast, and the touchpad does not work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needed a laptop for my son entering engineering school. Loaded it with huge SSD, max ram, i7 CPU, touch interface. The power pack is a bit large and she is not exactly lite but the performance is there in spades. Sturdy construction. My son is very happy with the result.

It is very easy to set up and use right away. It works flawlessly! And the sound is superbly awesome! It not only looks beautiful, it is beautiful in every single aspect. I couldn't be any happier. What a Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Wonderful new Machine and started the Long and arduous process of setting it up and installing all of my high end software that I use. I was looking for a machine that would double as both a Production and Design computer and a gaming computer as well as a computer to use for minor audio editing for my podcast and ventures into music production. to be honest, it took me a while to find my way as I have never owned an HP before. there is so much to relearn and understand. I am also getting use to Windows 11. the first thing I started to do was use my Photoshop sweep and also a film editing software at the same time. wow. the rendering speed without freezing is by far the first thing I noticed. I almost thought that the computer was "AI" and was reading my thoughts. I am exaggerating of course, but you get the picture.
additionally, I was also very impressed with the incredible brilliance of the display. the 15.6" diagonal, FHD (1920 x 1080) is like watching something happen in real time. I love the 4.6 GHz Turbo boost technology. I had read the other reviews about the machine being "noisy". and in the past, I have had issues with overheating. while you can hear the fan starting to kick in a little louder when multiple high end Processes are being utilized, it is nothing that would disturb the person who understands that with great Power comes great need for cooling the computer off. I feel like I am taking off on a quiet Mach 10 Jet. I can gush for ever. the design is great, the hard drive (1 TB SSD) and G Force video cards are exemplary. while it is hard to predict how this machine will work a year from now, or if technology will once again fire on ahead of everyone's expectations, one cannot be sure. I am completely happy thus far in the short time I have had the machine and look forward to many cool projects getting done in rapid succession. well done HP.
