Great...but could be better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the 4th Frigidaire window AC I've purchased (after several other popular brands). The Frigidaire has the best features for the best price (at least online). I particularly like the air purifier ion generator (can't say if it really works or if it's a gimmick), the ability to pull in or exhaust air with a simple lever, and the temperature sensing remote (wish it was not infrared which requires line-of-sight placement). But here is the 'not so good' (which may be common to many window units). The interior fan scroll is made of rough textured Styrofoam which is an excellent breeding ground for mold. I've trashed a couple of units for this due to black mold and spent days dismantling the others to clean them with bleach. Who'd ever think that a wet window AC unit might be a breeding ground for mold ??? !! The interior, vents and grill should be treated with anti-microbial materials or at least make them easy to sanitize. Frigidaire...are you listening?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace a very old unit that had broken. I am staying with my elderly dad since my mom died and he's always cold. I'm so glad I got it because now I have a room that is comfortable. It has many options I've never had before: a remote which is great, unit alerts me when to check the filter, has cool, energy saver, or fan only modes and can clean the air. sure hope it runs for years. Loving it!

quiet cools well but econ not working great

Defective. Didn't work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This never got cool no matter what setting it was on. I returned it. I am an older disabled person. I had to get someone to lift & install this air conditioner. Then when it didn't work I had to get someone to pack it up. This was a lot of trouble in the heat, since I didn't have an air conditioner.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

not cold enough

purchased to replace a 5BTU and only cools about the same. Kind of discouraged as I expected to get a great chiller due to the name brand that my family has used for years.

I hate to hear about your cooling experience, haggar1946. If the room temperature is very high, the air exiting the unit may not feel cold. Air exiting the unit is usually between 17°-20°F lower than the Intake air, and may not feel cold to the touch until the room temperature is reduced. I recommend adjusting the control to a colder setting and make sure that the unit is the correct size for the area that you're cooling. I hope this helps! -Courtney

Too noisy

We bought this AC in the month of June for medium large living room. There is no issue with the cooling but its way too noisy. We had to really raise the volume of our TV while this AC is on. Not really very satisfied with this purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
