Cools Large Upstairs Bedroom and Bath Very Well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this back in early May for the master bedroom upstairs in a 100 year old house with a weird L shaped bedroom, and a bathroom off of that. Installed in the right-end of the base of the "L" which is about 8' x 10', with it set to blow to the left over into the main part of the bedroom. It cools the main 14' x 15' bedroom part well, although I do have a box fan to blow the cold air over into it. It even cools the bathroom which is on the opposite side and opposite the air flow direction. The unit will keep the area nice 71F without running constantly. Without the AC unit that room will easily hit 90, and plaster walls hold the heat, so we keep it about 76 in the daytime, and 71 at night. Putting it on the Energy Saver settings and the remote sensor about 12' away works well for keeping the whole area cooled. The energy saver setting will let the temp rise 2 degrees over the set temp before it kicks on to cool. Batteries last about 3 months. Installation took a while because I had to install a spacer ledge on the windowsill due to a storm window installation, and you may need help to lift the unit, but the instructions were relatively easy to follow and there were no issues with the installation.

Works great but needs better instructions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit is working great as far as cooling goes. The instructions that come with it is lacking in details like why wouldn't I have the clean air function on all the time? Does it use more power? The remote is the best remote I've seen on a window unit. The remote thermostat sensor works better than the one in the unit itself. I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that the internal thermostat isn't working right. I leave the temp at 66 and the room heats up to 70 and still the unit doesn't turn on. I switch to the remote and it works like the built in should. Other than that it's nice and quite and cools quite well.

Great bang for your buck
