Excellent window unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit a month ago, install was easy, excluding install of window bracket, as the unit is at 2-nd floor. Besides the install, operation, functionality and features of the unit is superb.

Hard to install, really noisy

While we are satisfied with the temperature control and power, we had to bring in someone to install it and its is extremely noisy from day 1. we tried to adjust it on the window to reduce the noise from the engine but it didn't help.

Cools 500 sq. ft. fast w/o raising your bills

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A/C units we've bought for our 500 sq. ft. top (3rd) story apartment have typically been under-powered and less and less effective over time. This unit (with a hefty 10K BTU count) cools our place down fast and keeps it cool, over the course of the day and month after month. And our energy bill is slightly less than it was with a 4K or 5K BTU unit. Definitely worth -- financially and in terms of peace of mind -- the extra $50 or so bucks that we paid for it. When using the remote to turn it on, you need to remember to select "cool" and opposed to "economy." Economy is code for erratic function.

Works well but extended features are iffy

In energy saver (econ) mode the fan should come on for 20 seconds at 10 minute intervals (“tasting” the air) until the room temperature is above the set temperature, at which time the compressor turns back on. Is this happening? Your air conditioner remote has the sensing feature, please make sure that there are no obstructions between the remote and the air conditioner, and make sure the remote is placed within 20 feet and 120 degrees radius of the front of the air conditioner.
