A Very Nice Unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've looked and looked for a window unit that has a fresh outside air option, and this is it! Here in MI it's not always hot and humid at night, so the fresh air setting is great on those cooler nights. In the "olden days" window units always had this option, but not now. They claim they have a fresh air cycle, but all it does is circulate the inside room air. This 10,000 btu unit is bigger than what we needed because we always had a 5,000 btu unit in our bedroom that was just to supplement our aging central air. We are very pleased with this unit. The lights aren't as bright as our other one at night (you can dim them); my wife noticed it doesn't make a lot of noise when it cycles on and off; easy installation; light enough that it doesn't need an outside bracket; and an easy to read remote control.
This is a Very Nice Unit and I would recommend it to anyone.

Not that cool

Bought this 2 months ago to replace a smaller unit, I already had a Fridgidaire 10,000 BTU unit that is 4 years old and needed another to cool the rest of the house, BUT the new one is not as cold as the 4 years old one not real happy with it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fine if you live on the ground floor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This AC worked wonderfully when I lived on the ground floor, but I now live on the third floor and my first-floor neighbors complained about this unit POURING water into their yard constantly (even if it hasn't rained in a while). We've checked the drain hole (it's clear) and we can't get the outer case off to check the rest because the screws strip easily. I know it's humid, but I live in NYC and have never seen a window AC unit pour water like this.

failed after not quite 2 years

I bought this in July 2014 and it is now not cycling, just the fan blows. I expect more than 2 years of operation for the price.

GREAT AIR CONDITIONER, GREAT PRICE!!

I bought this air conditioner to replace an older model that wasn't efficient. The Frigidaire air conditioner is more efficient, less costly because of its economy button, and clean air button is a plus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A little too small (beware of the size)

Should've considered the size and the power when I purchased it. My biggest complaint is that it is way too LOUD. for example, when i have it on, we cant really hear each other over the dining table.

AKim, I apologize for any frustration these recent events have given you. It is normal to hear ‘high pitch chatter’ a sound of rushing air, gurgle/hiss, pinging or swishing and vibration. These are all normal. For more information of normal sounds during operation, please refer to page 4 in your Owner’s Manual. Verify that the original installation procedures have been followed properly. Pay special attention to any gaskets. If improperly installed, even a high quality, low-noise unit can rattle mercilessly. Your air conditioner is listed at 57 decibels on low, and 59 decibels on high. On the low speed these decibel levels compare to conversation in a quiet suburban home. On the high speed these decibel levels compare to a conversation in a restaurant or office. This air conditioner is rated to cool a room up to 450 square feet. Is the area you are cooling larger than this? If so, you may need to consider supplemental cooling options. Terribly disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit is way too loud and disturbing. Was difficult to fit in window, wish it had a lower speed setting so maybe it wouldn't sound like a jet engine coming through the window. Overall dissatisfied and would not recommend, would not buy another Frigidaire window ac unit. I feel it should be replaced with a better quieter one by Frigidaire. Not a satisfied customer.
