This laptop is comparable to the others at this price point. I chose the HP for the simple reason that it's equipped with legacy USB ports that are unavailable on the Dell. (a real necessity if your not looking to change out your mouse, backup drive, CD and printer or adding a hub). I also liked the option of the AMD chip. I have only had this for a week, so I cannot "fully" review operation. However, myHP (what ever that is) never worked, it just spun trying to load. Most disappointing, the HP Support Assistant would load, but none of the "tests" (with the exception of battery test) would run, And after a four hour chat and multiple tries with support, they could not figure out the problem. So I was left with the older version of SA and the supervisors promise that: "sometime in the future" I will be able to update to the "newer" version. My breath is not being held.
This laptop was everything it advertised to be and is built/made with great quality. I am so happy with this purchase and don't regret it. For the price, how could you complain with what you get? With 2 Ram slots with upgradable features and an AMD Ryzen cpu it doesn't get any better for this price range.
great laptop - and with the addition of 8Gb ram, it really whips along. Even can play a bit lesser demanding games. Wish the keys were dark - the lettering would stand out better...
