Helped so much, but some confusion-need improvemen

Overall, still love working with TurboTax. Self-employed as independent contractor, with rental properties; and TurboTax Home & Business seemed to fill out all the correct entries. Some areas, guidance was not enough to figure out the IRS confusing rules & limits.
Areas that I think need improvement:
1/ When we made more than one Estimated Tax payment for a given quarter, we need TurboTax to allow entering a multi-payment worksheet for these payments as well. As programmed now, can only enter one number, for one ES payment.
2/ For rental Business: have a MAJOR issue with TurboTax — this kept me from filing with confidence that I filed my taxes correctly. After I entered all my rental data, TurboTax then declared that I had an error: missing data that I needed to enter. Wanted me to enter the QBI (Qualified Business Income - loss) from last year, which was already imported by TurboTax from its own return that I entered for that year. I frankly have no idea how much of my rental business income (loss) from last year is QBI income (loss), and TurboTax does not give help to explain how much of last year's reported income is QBI, nor where to find it in last year's return. I kind of plugged in the actual income (loss) amount from last year, with no idea if the amount that I enter now is correct, or will get me in trouble with the IRS as a wrong amount. Intuit needs to review how TurboTax does Schedule E Smart Worksheet for real estate rentals where it expects entries for QBI for the previous year. I know the worksheet says "MANUAL Entries Needed", but TurboTax gives no help at all to figure out how I'm supposed to calculate those manual entries !

NY & CT STATE TAX RETURN INSTRUCTIONS ARE TERRIBLE

I had to prepare 2 state tax returns, NY and CT, for part-year residency in both. The turbo tax coordination between the 2 states, and instructions, is awful. I had to google to try to understand the wording on turbotax, literally had to go to the state instruction PDFs to translate the turbotax instructions, written very poorly.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Makes life easier overall, but also has mistakes

I'm always flabbergasted that in the "review" section of doing taxes, it finds "errors" of things that supposedly weren't entered... But then I go back to those exact sections and enter in the information, and it still says they're missing. So frustrating. I wish the software were smart enough to force you to answer them correctly the first time you're entering them, and not claim that you made "errors" when there's something wrong with how it's applying things to the form.

TT again!

TT gets the job done but every year there are quirks in the program which require extra research and corrections. By the October filing deadline one would think all of the bugs had been addressed. They never are.
