Lots of confusion and a few ongoing bugs

I've used a number of tax prep software products, and I was a volunteer tax trainer and preparer for 6 years, so I know a fair amount about tax return preparation. TurboTax leaves a lot to be desired! Even at my level of experience I find the software does not provide adequate information to determine what to enter in many of the fields. And unless you switch to the tax forms view, and you know what should end up in each field, I promise you this software will make mistakes that you will never catch! The biggest problem is that it doesn't adequately explain what some things are -- no, not even in the help screens -- nor in what context it is asking for certain information. And because it asks for things at weird times, such as a personal entry when you're entering business data, you're never really sure if the data is getting entered on the right form. Also, it occasionally asks for the same info in separate areas of the software so you don't know if it is making double entries or just verifying the info. There has been a consistent capital loss carry-forward data bug since the 2016 version and they still haven't fixed it. Overall, I can muddle my way through preparing my personal and business returns with this software only because I know how to verify the data is entered correctly in the forms view and make changes there. If you're not real tax savvy, I think you'd have a real frustrating time using this software, and there's a good chance your return will have an error or two. I will be using different tax prep software next year!

Investment transfer info worth it alone

Turbo Tax was great for filing home and business returns. Best & most valuable time saving thing for us was the transfer of data from out investment accounts directly into our forms, It was worth the price for that alone,

Failure to fix know issues

Turbotax has knowingly failed to fix a know issue that prevents e-filing and as such will only allow for paper filing of returns. Don't buy this product unless you have the simplest of returns to prepare.
