Essential for Home Business - But not perfect

I couldn't survive without Turbo Tax. It's the only package I've found that has all the features I need.
But, it's not perfect, for example: In the section to list expense for "use of home", Turbo Tax says NOT to include expenses for Telecom - cell phone, internet, etc - promising to ask for those in a later section. Never happens!
Furthermore, Turbo Tax makes it very difficult to return to the section listing Home Office expenses. (I never figured it out, but I doubt it affected my final outcome.)

Comments 2020 Tuirbo Tax Home and Business REVIEW

while I always have considered Turbo Tax to be a good system, I have a few comments. First, since I have used Turbo Tax for years to include last year, I wonder why certain information has to be reentered vice pulled from previous year. Second, for some reason this version stopped in processing and moving from section to section. Third, if I had to do a needs review or update it would stop functioning and require reboot. Fourth, there is no way to see how certain calculations are done or what has been changed from input. Thought about printing all pages at end of but at 570 pages for a 140 page tax returned, I declined. Fifth, on the review function you will ask questions about something and have no clue where you are referring especially if you have several documents that are feeding similar information on multiple accounts.

A few blemishes in the EasyStep process

Overall same as last year but confusing on rental properties and entering QBI. Error check asked me to put in a smaller loss than actual to comply with a total loss sum from the prior year. No explanation, very confusing. Unfortunately this scared me into getting the AuditDefense which is pretty gimmicky, but if I didn't have this buggy entry issue in TurboTax I wouldn't be lacking confidence that made me get AuditDefense.

Several Improvements Needed

1) Program would work much faster (less delays) if it did not need recalculate the tax after every single entry. Instead, there should be a button you click whenever you want the system to recalculate the tax owed. This would speed up the software especially when you have entered a lot of data
2) You should be told throughout the interview process if something you do or a box you check will result in you not being able to electronically file. To only learn of the inability to electronically file at the very step where you are about to send your taxes is far too late and very disappointing.

Love turbotax

I have rentals, RMD requirements, sold two homes in 2020. I had some issues with RMD requirements due to the Covid mandate to defer requirements....
