The back-to-back comparisons are very useful when you use TurboTax for a couple of years. TurboTax is the most agreeable accountant I have ever worked with.

Everything went good, as usual, except for "Other Income Taxes" in Deductions and Credits. I searched online and found that other people were wondering how TurboTax got the number, and we all are wondering where this number came from since none of us could figure it out. Fix that, please. I've been using TurboTax for years and always like it, except for the price... seriously you guys should charge less money (like way less!) Also, it seems Intuit makes a bundle charging $25.00 to send taxes electronically, which is just way too high a price. Intuit should charge something more reasonable like $4.99 (or free!)

Still very difficult for the average person to understand the sections and forms. The help section needs work and instructions such as "jump to the form" are not available. There should be more thorough help guidance. You should also be able to manually add forms, I did not see that feature.

TurboTax 2020 was a Total Hot Mess

This has to be the buggiest TurboTax I've ever used. The change from 1099-MISC to 1099-NEC was poorly handled and completely destroyed my tax return until I figured out how to unwind the bugs that it introduced. At one point it caused new businesses because the language was vague as to what TurboTax expected.
After I had completed most of my business taxes, I ran into this bug and ended up with three new businesses. The problem is that all of my expenses was with one business and now my income was with the three new invalid businesses that TurboTax so wonderfully gifted me with.
This is really not something you want to happen a few hours before the filing deadline and you're rushing to get everything done. Luckily, I'm a programmer and I took a deep breathe and figured out how to unwind the bug step by step, but it wasn't easy. It continued to show me invalid businesses and I had to make an educated guess about which one of the identically named entities was the real one. I guessed wrong a couple of times and had to start over.
Then I removed some really old 179 assets that no longer apply. Ooops, apparently TurboTax Federal and TurboTax state aren't talking to each other anymore. TurboTax state now gives me 8 invalid 179 assets that's lighting up my error check as if it were Christmas Day.
This doesn't give me much confidence that my taxes are correct this year. The amount of my refund feels about right, but I'm a bit worried that the IRS will see that my taxes are a hot TurboTax inspired mess this year.
