what's the point of putting in previous years returns if the program is asking for information in those returns. Navigating is still a pain.

There are several issues that Intuit should address to make this product better. I had two significant errors caused by TurboTax that took me several hours to discover and correct. The first one was while downloading documents from financial institutions, it copied the same form (1099 DIV) twice and therefore showed more dividend income than it should have. The second problem is with it's inability to recognize a 'non-deductible' Traditional IRA contribution that is later converted to a Roth IRA when the AGI exceeds the 'deductible' threshold for the Traditional IRA and Roth IRA contribution. TurboTax handled this as a disallowed/excess contribution and calculated the penalty for excess contribution. This is known as a 'backdoor' contribution and is fully acceptable per IRS regulations.

Love TurboTax - Thorough and Complete

I have been using TurboTax as a professional in the past. As an individual filing my own returns this is my go to tax software program. I love the various versions. You can choose the version specific for your needs. I love how the program does comparisons from year to year with information carried through making it easier to review items that would have been missed.

Have been using every year since 2007 for my businesses and rentals in multiple states with several homes...at one time. It handled all the complex processing for me!

Turbo Tax saves MOST of my sanity

I can't imagine trying to do taxes without TT. There are some parts of it that drive me crazy, but it's mostly the complexity of the tax code and some of the explanations that don't make sense to me. The tax code should just not be this difficult to navigate. Without TT, I think I might have committed hari-kari years ago!
Overall, TurboTax makes a chore that I absolutely DESPISE, more palatable and I feel confident in the results I get using it. This year, we got a refund and that made me absolutely HAPPY!
