Great product using for 10 years

Good product but has too many dead-ends

If you have a lot of imported data, like investment details, this product saves LOADS of time. It is a very nice first program for people who formerly took the standard deduction and did a quick job but now have investments and other things that need to be hand-entered.
The details and the dead-end loops are frustrating. The instructions on each screen should be in red and bigger letters - otherwise it's too easy to miss - and then you get into one of those loops.
There has to be a split screen option that shows step-by-step on one half and the forms on the other half. It's so frustrating to have a deduction you have to explain and NO idea what form(s) generated it.
At least you fixed the "farm income" problem. A couple of years ago I was asked whether I had farm income to declare at least seven times, and the answer was still no.

Used it for Years never let me down

I used Turbo Tax for the past 12 years last year I started my own business and used a Tax Preparation Professional and was not happy with the process. Turbo Tax offers more instruction and help which I needed for a business.

Crashes and loses all your work

This piece of garbage crashed and refused to open again after I put in my payment method to e-file. If I weren't a software engineer who knew how to find and delete the appropriate caches and temporary files, I would have needed to spend another 4 hours completely redoing everything from scratch. I can hardly express how livid I was when this piece of crap crashed at the last possible moment and seemingly lost hours of my work.

Turbo Tax has deficiencies

When Turbo Tax asks whether we have loss carryovers... shouldn't that be taken care of automatically when it reads the prior year returns? I would think that this should be automatically filled in, instead of by me...
Also, there are a lot of adjustment questions for state taxes without help... This is not acceptable. I would figure that with complex adjustments, Turbo Tax would have put in better details on what the adjustments mean and how to make them, instead of leaving us to seek information... After all, didn't we pay for this package for help such as this?
