TurboTax Makes It Easy

I've used TurboTax for over 10 years, very thorough and easy to use. I did have a minor issue with the amount the program allowed me to contribute to an Individual 401(k). After doing research and reading IRS Pub 560, I learned I was NOT able to contribute the amount that TurboTax indicated I could. Fortunately I found this out in time and was able to amend my return. Other than that, everything went smoothly as usual.

When filing taxes for a deceased person...

I am well versed in turbotax and love it. But please dont keep setting up screens like "lets see what we can save you next year!" etc etc. I indicated right away the person was deceased. It should go down a different path after that.

Needs to store prior year tax info better !!!

Ok on the basics - but TOOOOO many times you have to reenter information into Turbo Tax from PRIOR YEARS!!! That is the entire purpose, the main reason etc... WHY I use Turbo Tax is so prior year info magically loads. Example: WHY do I have to track my $500 lifetime deduction on energy efficient improvements to my home. I have used TT since 1994!!! This is just laziness on the TT team. There are also multiple examples of this in the AMT calculations... often asking the user to reenter info from prior years taxes.

First time using Turbo Tax by myself. And to make it worse, I am filing my normal sole proprietorship return and also a new S Corp return. Turbo Tax has been very helpful so far. After filing 1099's, now filing extension.
