My first year of both rental, business, and retirement income - and my first year using TurboTax. So there were several new things for me. Overall, the software was intuitive and easy to use. Dialog boxes answered almost all of my questions fully, although I did make one or two mistaken choices that I fixed after getting advice. I really appreciated the real-time refund calculator at the top so that I could see what the effects were of different things I could choose to do.
I was helped by the fact that I have been doing my taxes for several years and mostly had all my information gathered and organized before I began.

So I have been using a cpa for 4 years now, since i started my 1099 based career, simply because I was terrified of doing my taxes myself because I had no idea how or where to start. I had always used turbo tax as a W-2 employee but as 1099 self-employeed young adult, brand new to the big world of taxes, I was 100% sure that I wasnt able to do my taxes myself and I was unawear that I was able to do them on Turbo-tax even as being self-employeed. Long story short, my cpa moved away and I was lost and even avoided doing my taxes for almost too long, even if I am ashamed to admit it! Then I found out I could do it on Tubro Tax, and then I did just to find out that is was as easy and simple as it has always been as a W-2, and is even better now than when I had used it then. It almost beat my old CPA except I had to put the time into it lol! I am kinda kicking myself in the butt for not doing it sooner. Anyway, it was like riding a bike! Super easy, not at all intimidating, and extreamly informational. If you are unsure about something, just click Learn more and next thing you know, you are a tax expert yourself! 5 Stars from me!!! Thanks for saving my butt Turbo Tax and finding me money too!
